Connie's Poetry

The Human Spirit

I have been the sky, true blue;
Brooding clouds, cleansing rains;
Still as the night;
With stars of light reaching out forever.

I have been the wind and water;
Strong and powerful, full of fury;
Touching everything in my path;
Soft as gentle breezes and bubbling springs.

I am the dirt, firm beneath the growth;
Crumbling to the touch;
Hard from the drought;
Sluggish mud, heavy with weight.

I will become the rock;
With layers of hardness in my final form;
Unrelenting to change;
Not from arrogance, but awe.
